Derrick was off today, so after picking up his truck and eating, we headed to the park. The kids have new sand buckets and shovels, and they were dying to try them out…
And I do have another completed card to share, just waiting till I finish one more tonight, and then I will upload…. :)
So. Learned today that you can take digital images online, heat set them and color them. WHAT???? I spent all afternoon downloading images, and got one colored. Here is my step by step…
Initial image, colored with colored pencils only.
Blended with some shading added.

Completed…I reoutlined her with a black SU pen.

(I cut her with my nesties, and then used a grey copic marker to outline her)
Isn't that amazing? I am so excited about downloading all these free images to color. And I made a decision that I am going to print, print, print pages before vacation so that I have a TON to color during downtime. Yay!!! I am building up a stash of cards already, and I have a backlog of colored images just waiting to be made into cards. I LOVE it.
As a side note….. know what else is really exciting? If you are a demo for SU, they are revealing some of their sets from the new catty tomorrow.I am seriously considering staying up late to see the preview tonight. Can not wait to see, and can not wait to order. New catty comes out July 1st, and I can not wait!!!
I started scanning my cards, and wow, its a lot quicker! These are ones that I completed the past two days. Last night Derrick and I rented a movie and I colored a whole bunch of images. So I will be ready to put together some cards at naptime today!
We have not done much this three day weekend. Mostly be lazy together, which has been so nice. Derrick was off yesterday and we got some piddly things done around here, and got the house cleaned up. I feel like its been forever since the house had a good deep cleaning, so it felt like it was way past time! I only have a couple things left to finish up today, like cleaning the back bathroom (ICK- I am putting it off as long as possible!) and cleaning up the screened in porch. Its so funny to clean with kids though. Its like you get one room cleaned and you turn around and there are toys or boots or trucks in the room that you just cleaned! It drives me crazy!
But I have a REALLY good excuse. You see, I had to go get this done….
I have been talking on and off about getting my nose pierced for about a year now. Maybe longer. So last night, I did it! And it wasn't that bad! And I am so in love with it! This stone is a little bigger than what I want in there long term, but I have to keep it in for 8-10 weeks to let it heal. And Derrick likes it, which totally rocks my world. :) And aside from dad, who called me an idiot (thanks dad) everyone else has been okay about it. And mom, I am pretty sure I woke you up this morning, so I hope you remember our conversation, and this picture doesn't come as a shock… :)

Just colored up these pretties. But naptime is almost over, so I have to wait till everyone leaves to do anything else with them. But I can not complain. Never at Carle could I have spent this amount of time for lunch to color and watch court TV… :)

But I wanted to add more purple. So I used some more purple on the flowers.

Glittery paint in amazing colors. Like heaven in a little pot. The color is AWESOME and the coverage is great. Takes a little bit to get the paint mixed, and its a little shocking at first, because it is really watery, but once you use it, you will love it. I promise. I used it on the flowers, and the chipboard on my layout below, (the thumb sucker one) and was soooo impressed.

So. The semester is officially over, and I have no excuse for not blogging more often. So here I am. I have been creative lately, which has been amazing. Mom helped me decide on some prisma colored pencils, and I am totally smitten. And I have been scrapbooking like mad. And I just placed a order for over 200 pics, so I know that there are more pages to come! Some new ones from this week….
And I realize that I really need to learn how to scan my pages. Not only would they look better, but it would eliminate the possibility of me falling off my chair (which has wheels) where I perch precariously trying to shoot a picture of the layout on the clipboard on the wall. See, all my layouts stay on the wall for a while before they enter the scrapbooks. That way they are seen for a while, and serve as decoration!
Nothing majorly new. We got a new septic system last week. My yard now looks like this…

I also have something really nerdy that all my SU followers will love. I get so tired of looking through the catty and picking out stamps only to wonder “do I have that set” Or digging through everything to find the perfect stamp set, only to find out it doesnt fit my vision. So I made this….
Inside and alphabetized, are 5x7 note cards. I stamped all stamps from the set, labeled it and wrote down details (like retired, current ect)
LOVE IT. I have been using my stamps much more. I also scored this awesomeness at a garage sale last week….
Full of stamps, and the top is PERFECT for a bigshot cutting station. HEAVEN. Derrick said I cant grow anymore though. I am a master hoarder though, so I have no fear. :)

Pathetically these are the mothers day cards I made that I STILL have not sent. Who the hell decided mothers day should be around finals week??? Misery I tell you, misery.
