Gritty grout....

Derrick and I just finished grouting our tile floor. What a hot mess. I hate grouting. I seriously hate grouting. But I helped. And that's what counts. But I HATE grouting.

I figure with all my picture posts maybe I should update on our lives a little too. So. Here goes.

Really? I don't have much to report.

Riley got into preschool in Villa Grove. She will start in September and until today was absolutely convinced that she would get to ride the school bus. I think we finally got through to her that Derrick will be taking her and picking her up. She is growing so fast, that its kinda weird. Sometimes I just watch her playing and I am totally amazed that this little baby is such a big girl!

Chase is good too. No preschool for him! He has to stay my baby f.o.r.e.v.e.r. Or else. I cant bear the thought of him growing up on me too! He is such a boy, always driving his trucks and tractors all over the place. He loves weekends when the baby gate is open and he can fly through the kitchen on his ride on digger. Cute. But dangerous. He doesn't care if you move out of his way. He can move you. That's what the bucket is for, right? Chase is still little bitty, in fact he is in the lower 5th percentile for weight. We had some bloodwork done a week and a half ago that we are still waiting on results from. Thank you Carle, for returning my calls. I am thisclose to calling actionline. But I will wait until Thursday, when my patience and their two weeks will be up. Its just hard to be worried about your baby and not get the answers you want/need.

Derrick and I are plugging away at the addition. Right now we are just doing things as time (and money) provide. I think that Derrick has been so burnt out the last couple weeks, so its been nice to have a break and just wait for the next flurry of add-on activity. I think that the fact that we do these additions ourselves (with the help of friends of course) just makes it so much better. Like we are prouder or something. I am just anxious to get it done! Not only do I want the space, but I really want to refi the house while rates are low, and we can not get appraised while we are still under construction! Its just a catch 22 situation. Anyway, we are going to start on the floors in the second (or is it third) bedroom next week, and then hopefully get the coil unit for the air conditioner installed the following week. Doesn't it sound like I know what I am talking about? I really have no clue. I just pick up on things that Derrick says here and there, and elaborate.... :)

Okay. Update over. Time for bed....

And???

I HATE grouting. Just want to put that out there..... :)

Big boy

<---using daddy's tape measure

<---wearing sisters slippers.

<---post haircut. My little man. He looks so grown up now.

<----getting his first haircut. This was before he started screaming, crying and throwing himself around. He was not a good haircut client.

<---still quiet. We didn't take pictures of the drama. It took both of us to hold him as it was!

Riley, on the other hand, did not get her haircut. She was devastated that Chase and Daddy both got their hair cut and she didn't. Every day or two she will ask if she can get her haircut after dinner. *sigh* poor little thing.

Alright... sorry for the quick post and run...

finally....

<---stinky boy. And I would know. I changed him right after this picture.

<---even ballerina princesses have to do puzzles in their PJ's.

<---love this. Chase trying to put my lens cap on as I try to take a picture of him. Think he is trying to tell me something??

Its finally snowing. I am crossing fingers, arms and toes that we get the 4 inches predicted. I really want to turn the kids out in the snow and watch them play! I think that they will love it!!!

And Vanessa. It doesn't suprise me that you would "pretend" to nap in kindergarten. We all know how you "pretend" to look for things and then can't find them......I am just sayin'

It took me FOREVER to upload these pics. Like days. Blogger was acting up on me. Looks like its all good now...

. . . . . . .

I am uploading new pics to my computer as I type this...... :)

Monday, January 19, 2009

So.....

So, my computer wouldn't let me type anymore after uploading pics yesterday. I finally gave up fighting and just hit "publish post". I don't pretend to be techie at all, so I just gave up on it.

No real updates here. Same thing day in and day out. The kids are all napping right now, or pretending to nap, in Rileys case. It makes for such an easy afternoon for me!! I won't complain for sure. I am catching up on all my DVR'd programs. I have no idea what I would do without that flipping DVR. I love that thing. And finishing up a scrapbook page. And of course, blogging.

I need to upload some of my new pages at some point to the blog. I have yet to learn the stitch feature in adobe. Okay its not that I have not learned, I just have yet to try. I am content with the layouts hanging on my wall until they go to the albums. But I really would like to have them saved on the computer too.

OKay. I can't think of much else to update on, and its really hard for me to try to type softly. I am going to finish my page....

<---after we drove the truck through the field.

<--yeah. I kinda like him.

<---dirty little neon.

Since the neon is pretty much done we decided to take it mudding. Mudding, in a neon you say? Yep. Sure thing.

Okay. I have a kid that needs a bath. More later.

P.S.

And yay to Vanessa for commenting.....I was starting to think that nobody was reading this thing..... :)

the pumpkin catch part 2

<---proof. They can be nice and sit together. Although not often.

<---go figure. Chase is more interested in the painting on the pumpkin than standing straight to take a picture.

<---Riley is SO big!

<---- I WANT this pumpkin

<--the whole fam. Why am I the only one looking at the camera???

I told Riley several times on Saturday that we were going to the pumkin patch on Sunday. Sunday morning we get up and she says "Were going to the pumpkin catch!!" So cute, and its kinda stuck now!!!

So we had fun at the "catch". Took lots of pics. We saw a "worry" worm (woolly worm) and we played in a maze. Riley took her camera and took pictures of the bunnies that she saw. They were both super good, and we now have two big pumpkins to carve! I think that we will try to tackle those tomorrow night, after daycare. Derrick is off tomorrow, so it will be easy to just drag him in and make him carve with us! I think that they will both really enjoy the carving this year!

Not much else to say here. We have been keeping busy, doing random things. I am working on an afghan for christmas, and waiting for my new yarn! I am making a blue and green blankie for Chase and a green and pink one for Riley. The boys that come here for daycare both have "bigabees" (their blankies) so I think that Riley and Chase will be super excited to get bigabees of their own! I just hope that I get them done in time!!!

Alright. Its almost 11. I have to get to bed. Derrick and I are having mouse issues, and I know I will have to get up super early to check and make sure Derrick takes care of the traps! Ick. I hope we kill them all. Sorry mom.... :( But I really HATE mice. They are so cute, but SO destructive.

The pumpkin catch.

<---- Okay. These are out of order. Dont look at this one yet.

<---Hey!!! There is my sister!!!!!

<--- chase in the maze. Looking for his sister....

Okay NOW look at the 1st pic...

<---chicken. There were roosters too. And every time the roosters crowed, Chase would scream at them. Hilarious!

<--- my little sunflowers....

<--- my sweet girl. Looking innocent as ever. Looking innocent isnt the same as being innocent, let me assure you.

I have more pics, so I am going to do a second post.

What my kids do on Sundays....

<---mmmm. Froot Loops out of the box. Dont worry we have a "special" box reserved for this that we dont share with anyone.

<--- Riley: Let me show you how to work this thing Chase-y Chase: I dont care about the freaking remote. Hand over the fruit loops.

<--- too much sugar in the AM.

I dont have much else to really say! Things have been pretty low key around here. I feel like I should change my blog name to like the boring adventures of a daycare mom or something. I would much rather it be low key, but still. It makes me look boring in the blogging world.

Derrick is trying to put the heater in. Okay, right now he is asleep on the couch, but its naptime, so there isnt much he can do. Once the kids get up, he will be working again. We cant run the vents under the floor (we will be putting new flooring in and the old is much lower than the new) so we are going to have duct work running across our floor for the next couple week. I dont care. GIVE ME HEAT! Its not freezing my any means, but I have really poor circulation in my feet and hands, so I get cold really quick.

Okay. All the update for now. I want to work on a page while the house is quiet.... :)
